Create with Connie and Mary--Favorite NEW Catalogue Bundle!

So to end this month of new ‘favorites’ we had to design something with our favorite new bundle! Well the one that I have created with the most would have to be the Hand-Penned Petals suite! I just love the whole collection. I created a really fabulous project to share with my team and I thought it was the perfect project to end this month of ‘favorites’! I hope you are inspired!

I can’t believe in my 15 years of Stampin’ I have never created a card folio before! I designed this one to hold two cards on either side of the folio. There is enough space that you could also include envelopes. The color palette of the project is based off of the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper which I am in love with. I have always been a fan of pastels, in fact, when I got married my 5 bridesmaids wore pastel pink, yellow, blue, green, and purple!

You're Amazing!

Do you scrapbook your pets? I love to scrapbook my dog, Hawkins! In fact when I pull out my phone I swear he starts posing. Hahaha! I want to remember all the things, and the picture of my son Shepard and Hawkins reminds me of the school pick up days. My dog sits on the console between the front two seats anxiously awaiting the arrival of the kids to the car. Scrapbook the everyday, not just the big days!

The base of this page is the new Soft Succulent In Color and I paired it up with a peachy coral tone that I was able to achieve by adding in some of our new You’re a Peach DSP and Pansy Patch DSP. I love this color combo with some hints of gold.

I used the Meadow Dies because they are literally my favorite thing at the moment…maybe in a tie with the Tailored Made Tags Dies…both so versatile and fabulous!

I added in phrases from several stamp sets—A Grand Kid, Create with Friends, and Color & Contour!

I think you could easily recreate this layout using different colors, stamps and DSP! I hope you are inspired!

Create with Connie and Mary--Favorite NEW Designer Series Paper

Okay, I supposed we are actually supposed to pick just ONE…but I can’t because what I love about our Designer Series Papers is how well they work TOGETHER! Have you noticed this? I love that several of the colors and tones are present in multiple papers. This is fabulous and makes way more sense to be able to create with several options! So I have a hybrid project that includes my ‘favorites’…plural!

See what I mean? How outstanding do these Designer Series papers look together? And will make you want all 3—-mission accomplished!

I have been a Stampin’ Up! demo for 15 years and I got into stamping from a scrapbookers lense. So I have always been a big fan or our DSP…and dare I say it, this may be my favorite year yet!! There are honestly so many gorgeous options and so much design potential!

I started with the base of Pale Papaya for my page. One of the best new In Colors we have had in a while (in my humble opinion because it’s a yellow and it’s an orange). And if you poke through the catalogue you will notice this color in more than one Designer Series Paper—WIN!

Typically I do not design pages with out photos first, I don’t know why, it is just how my brain works. But I wanted to create a beautiful Mother’s Day page so I had it ready to go for the day. And this way I was able to tell my husband I needed pictures snapped in both directions, hahaha! He is pretty well trained though!

This layout uses the Hand-Penned, Pansy Petals and the hostess paper Pattern Party! Isn’t that amazing? If I was forced to make a single selection of my favorite, I guess I would say Hand-Penned. I just love the line art soft style of the florals and I am always a sucker for polka dots, stripes and scallops so it checks all those boxes!

The smallest strip of DSP in Misty Moonlight is from the Pattern Party DSP stack. I can’t tell you how happy I am that Stampin’ Up! has included a DSP as a hostess reward option. Whoever decided that should get a raise!

The large floral strip of DSP is from the Hand-Penned collection, along with the Pale Papaya polka dot tag (cut with the Tailored Made Tags dies). Seriously, add them to your list right now!

The gingham piece is from the Pansy Petals DSP and I think it’s awesome that there are gingham options in 3 colors in this collection. So brilliant.

The photo mat is Garden Green. I really love how the concept artist wove this color into the Hand-Penned DSP.

Can we talk about the Meadow Dies for a minute? I am having a love affair with them. They are AMAZING and seriously look good with any project—cards, scrapbook pages, box toppers, I can go on and on but if you follow me on Instagram @stampwithbrenda you will come to see what I mean as I can’t even put them away!

The “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment is from the Dressed to Impress samp set and is cut with a shape from the Meadow Dies. I then layered that on top of a shape from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

For this side I decided to focus on the Misty Moonlight design from the Pattern Party DSP by making it the largest section of DSP. I added the same design from the Hand-Penned over top and if you look close you will notice that the circle behind the “Love You More” is from the In Color 6x6 Designer Series Paper stack. The sentiment is from the Measured with Love stamp set.

The other sentiment on this page is from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.

The dies really stand out on this layout, especially with the floral image stamped direct to the page from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and then softly stamped in the background of the larger sentiments.

I hope this layout helps you think about combining patterns and designs from multiple DSP collections. Like I said, I really could not pick just one so I hope you enjoy this blending together of my favorites! Create with Connie and Mary--All In Colors, All in ONE!

This week we are challenged to create a project that incorporates all 5 of our new In Colors onto one project! I actually love doing this and often create cards and scrapbook pages with this design theme.

Our new In Colors are just so fantastic as they look awesome together as a group and they work so well to complement our existing colors. So it was not hard to create with them!

I used the Banners Pick a Punch to create the banners or flags along the left edge in the following colors: Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink.

I cut a panel of Basic White card stock to layer overtop and pop up with Dimensionals. For the background I stamped the floral image from the Art in Bloom stamp set in Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

The sentiment is from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set and is stamped in Polished Pink ink and punched with a 2 inch circle (or you can use the Layering Circle Dies) and also popped up with Dimensionals.

Finally I added a couple clear circles from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials which added a nice detail without distracting from the crisp clean background.

Around the World On Wednesday--Fancy Folds!

Welcome friends! So happy to be back with this crew this month, especially because our design theme is ‘Fancy Folds’ and I always love the challenge of creating one! While my design skills might be strong, math is not my forte! So while the ‘Fancy Fold’ looks amazing, it is not complicated and is something that can be replicated!

As soon as I saw the Pansy Patch Bundle and coordinating Pansy Petals DSP I knew I wanted to try making a Pop Up Box card again. It has been a while but I was familiar with this card style and I could envision a bunch of flowers popping out of a box. You could recreate this project using any of our amazing flower dies.

What made this project extra awesome was that I was able to cut all of the flowers from the Designer Series Paper with the coordinating dies! I love when Stampin’ Up! developes amazing product coordination!

The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral ink from the Pansy Patch stamp set and punched into a 2 inch circle.

What makes this Pop Up Box card so great is that it folds or squishes flat so you can send it in an envelope. When the recipient opens it it will pop open into the box shape. It is also a really adorable project to have on display in your craft room. And, extra bonus, you can make two cards from one 8 1/2 x 11 piece of card stock.

To create the Pop Up Box card cut your card stock to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. Score on the long side at 2, 4, 6 and 8. On the short side score at 2 1/4. On the 2 inch side, trim away a small portion from the 1/2 inch section to create a flap. This is how your will seal the box shut.

You can see from this angle there is no bottom to this project.

The flaps can be decorated. I decided to add a layer of Crumb Cake card stock to the two side flaps that I ran through the Dots folder from the Checks & Dots set.

As you can see the back ‘flap’ is not folded, you leave it standing straight to create a back to the project. I added some DSP from the Pansy Petals to this back panel measuring just under 2 inches by 3 inches.

On the bottom of the box I also added the same DSP.

Now let’s talk about the inside! To anchor the pansies you will need two things—Window Sheets, cut into teeny tiny strips and two pieces of coordinating card stock, in this case, Crumb Cake, cut to .5 x 3 inches scored on each end at .5. You will then use Glue Dots to anchor each little tab to the inside of the box.

The strips of Window Sheet are used to attach to these card stock anchors and the flowers. You can cut them to different heights to create a floral arrangement.

I hope this project inspires you to try creating your own Pop Up Box card. You can search Pinterest for inspiration or a visual for the directions, there is a lot out there!
