Twelve Days of Christmas--Project #6

Hi friends! Are you enjoying our project shares? I really hope you are finding some fun and different ideas between myself and Melanie! Today I want to share another holiday scrapbook page idea with you!

I offer a class each month, on the last Sunday of the month, over zoom, that is called The Making Memories Membership. Each month I design and share a layout with the members, share my creative strategies and design process and then recreate the page using completely different supplies. You craft along with me using your own supplies! It has been a wonderful first year offering this class series. If you are looking to develop your scrapbooking skills, please message me to find out how you can join for 2025!

This page was one that I shared this past month with everyone in The Making Memories Membership group. Typically, I do not share publicly what I create for this group, but I love this page so much and I would love you to join my creative community, so here you go!

Tell me I am not the only one who snaps pics of the starbucks holiday cups? hahaha!

The base of this page is Pecan Pie with a layer of Basic White over top. I used a variety of 2x2 squares in a bunch of DSP patterns to give life to this page. Some are retired, some are holiday prints and some are more neutral, however they come together in perfect harmony. There is literally SO MUCH you can do, design wise, with a 2x2 square!

‘Yay all the Way’ is from the Sophisticated Sled Bundle —with a little Real Red & White Bakers Twine in behind and a gold snowflake from the Snowy Wonder Dies. This bundle is where you will find the ‘Season’s Greetings’ sentiment as well. I used the Modern Oval Punch for that sentiment and layed it over top of a label die from the Peaceful Season Dies.

I wanted to add little images or shapes to some of the squares to help tell the story or the theme of my page. I stamped the little tree from the Snowy Wonder stamp set, a heart from the Bee Builder Punch, a little die cut tree from Snowy Wonder and the snowflake from the One of a Kind dies. Plus a few fun peppermint embellishments and some really old little heart embellishments (that I have been hoarding!).

If you are going to try and recreate this page, make sure to pop up your Real Red photo mat plus a few of the square to give dimension to your page. It really helps bring the layering effect of the 2x2 squares to life.

Twelve Days of Christmas--Project # 5

HI friends! Are you enjoying all of our projects so far? I hope so! It is definitely starting to feeling like holiday season! Today I am sharing a card and a coordinating ornament or gift tag idea!

Lets start with one of my favorite card designs—I think it definitely falls into the ‘Good Card Design’ category as you can recreate this card with any dsp or die cut options!

The base is Real Red (its just screams classic Christmas) and in the top left and bottom right I stamped the little cluster of stars found in the Decorative Trees stamp set.

I created a first layer in Basic White where I die cut out a circle. Behind the circle I laid strips of DSP from the Take a Bow DSP in 1/2 and 3/4 wide strips. This is such a great way to use up DSP. I also ran this panel through the Snowfall Folder for a little extra touch.

I used the colors of the Take a Bow DSP to determine the colors of my two trees that I die cut with the Decorative Tree Dies. I just love these dies and have had so much fun creating with them this holiday season.

The dies have two sets of trees to choose from. The Garden Green treen in the front is one of the smaller tree options. The fancy layer that is on top of the tree is a separate die. You need to cut it and add it to the base tree, which is bigger. You then just use your snips to trim off the bottom section of the base tree! I was so happy to discover this as it made creating even more tree combinations a breeze!

Every year I make some sort of wood slice Christmas ornament or gift topper. I do hang these on my tree or tie them on a gift bag or use them on a gift. I love using a wood slice or tree cookie as my base. These are fun inexpensive gifts that you can use in a variety of ways. The coordinating card makes it a fun little gift!

To make this fun 3D tree for my ornament, I cut out 4 trees in Granny Apple Green. One is the base and three will be scored right down the middle of the tree. You could stamp on these 3 layers, like I did here, or even run them through an embossing folder for some texture.

I used the little star shapes from the Decorative Tree dies on these ones. Fold the 3 trees in half along the score line. Add some Tombow to the base tree and add one tree (one folded side) to the left half of your base tree, then add the next tree with Tombow to the back of the first tree and so forth, attaching the third tree to the base. I love when we can take a shape and make it 3D!

Because the Decorative Trees stamp set has the sentiment ‘Oh, Christmas Tree’ I knew that I had to use it on this project. It is stamped in Real Red ink with a spray of Granny Apple Green over top. I added a couple little banners from the Take a Bow DSP and a star from the die set.

I hope you are inspired to make a fun card and coordinating ornament yourself this holiday season!

Make sure you are checking Melanie’s blog on the days opposite of me so you don’t miss any of our awesome projects!

Twelve Days of Christmas--Project 2 !

Welcome to my second post of 12 Days of Christmas! Today I want to share a quick and easy holiday gift—A Take-a-Way cup with a fun label that you can fill with hot chocolate!

My kids and I love to drink hot chocolate and I often send some with them to school in a disposable cup (much easier than remembering to bring home a travel mug to your mom, haha!) and I often make some as gifts for my stamping friends. The Holiday season is busy so its fun to have inspiration for projects that don’t take up that much time!

I found these gold striped To Go cups at my local HomeSense and I took the sleeve that came with them and deconstructed it so it was flat. Then I traced it onto some of the Reindeer Days DSP to create my own sleeve.

I punched a 2 3/8 circle from Garden Green and ran it through the Dashing Designs embossing folder. The sentiment ‘Christmas is Better Together’ is from the Reindeers Days stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink on Basic White.

I used the heart die from the Friends for Life dies to cut out the sentiment and I was so happy it fit so perfectly around the sentiment. The gold bow (to tie into the lines on the cup) is from the Reindeer Fun dies and I snipped a couple pieces of Granny Apple Green card stock into little banners to add behind the heart/bow.

This is such a great, fun and easy project to give a little treat of hot chocolate, or fill the cup with chocolates or other treats.

Head on over to Mel’s Inky Fingers tomorrow to see what she has to share for holiday inspiration!

Color Fusers--October!

Hi friends! Welcome to Color Fusers! We are happy you are here joining our hop—each month we each design projects featuring a fun color combination. This month we are hoping using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat. NOW, I know that Wild Wheat gets some hate, but I actually do enjoy it and I think it looks awesome of with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.

I decided to make a scrapbook page this month that features a bunch of new scrapbook products, mashed up with stuff from the Holiday Catalogue and a few favorite retired items.

I actually used the new White Willow card stock and I made a little comparison sample to Basic White.

There is a slight different between the two whites—it is hard to capture in a photo but when they are side by side—you can tell. I would describe White Willow as a little bit brighter of a white. It is definitely worth ordering a package to see for yourself and share with your teams and customers.

This page is ready to add two fun photos taken this month!

I added a 4 x 12 strip of Wild Wheat card stock along the left side that I ran each end through the Dashing Designs embossing folder. It is probably my favorite folder in the catty. I used Petal Pink card stock for 2 photo mats. I added a strip of retired In Color DSP in Wild Wheat along the side of the left photo mat.

October and Crisp Autumn Days are from the Autumn to Remember stamp set which is from the new Scrapbooking Brochure. I stamped October in Calypso Coral for that tone on tone look, with a little bit of retired ribbon behind. It is on the label die Regal Floral Dies.

To bring the sentiment to life I added images from the Regal Floral, Caring Leaves, Changing Leaves and Autumn to Remember stamp sets. What a fun bunch of sets to mix together! A few Gold Textured Adhesive Dots completed this little section.

I love this section on my page—I try to add one to two areas on my page that are story telling or helping to bring my photos alive. I think ‘Crisp Autumn Days’ is awesome!

I love how the Regal Flora flowers work with the leaves to create this scrapbook page. I loved adding sentiments in from the new sets in the scrapbooking brochure. The phrase ‘Unforgettable Memories’ at the top of my page is from the new Snow Day stamp set.

This is a really wonderful color combination that I enjoyed crafting with. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the team comes up with!

Next up on the hop is the AMAZING Janekke—a former Artisan Design Team member! We had so much fun being on the team together. I love her style and I know you will be inspired.

You can also go the other way and see what Melissa Kerman has designed for this month! Either way, you will be impressed.

Father's Day Projects!

Hi friends! I wanted to share a really adorable Father’s Day project that I designed for a recent kids class! We had so much fun putting everything together and I know the lucky dad’s will be truly touched by this gift!

Of course you need to make things a ‘gift set’ right? We have our fun project, a coordinating card and tag for our gift bag! I do love matchy matchy stuff and its always so easy with Stampin’ Up!

I started with an inexpensive canvas that I got at our local ‘dollar’ store.

I did a bit of ink blending with Boho Blue and a Blending Brush on the canvas around the top left and bottom right of where my photo was going to be placed.

I used a cute 4x6 picture of my youngest son and his dad on a Night of Navy base. I love the combination of Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy and Pebbled Path! It worked so well on this project!

I added a little strip of Misty Moonlight DSP along the left side of the picture and used a Pebbled Path piece to create the rosette. I am loving the Round We Go bundle! The rosettes are pretty easy to assemble and make this project come to life!

The sentiment ‘So Glad You are My Dad’ is from the Gone Fishing stamp set and ‘You’re Awesome’ is from the retired Circle Saying Stamp set. I also used the Encircled in Nature Dies as well to layer ‘So Glad’ in Boho Blue.

I think this project turned out so adorable and you could modify it for any occasion like a birthday or celebration (think Grad or even a wedding shower!).

And of course we have a coordinating card and I used our new Brayer for the first time on the bottom section! I inked it up in Night of Navy and brushed it over Basic White card stock, leaving a section at the top to run through an embossing folder. I used a strip of Night of Navy card stock to hide where it was uneven and to create separation between the two section.

I used our Water Painter to flick water over the inked section so the water droplets would ‘remove’ some of the ink. It basically happens on contact and is pretty cool technique.

The Trusty Tools stamp set was perfect for the front and inside of the card. ‘Dad’ is stamped in Pebbled Path ink on another shape from the Encircled in Nature Dies and ‘Happy Father’s Day’ is on Boho Blue in Night of Navy ink.

I decorated the inside of the card as well with a little strip of DSP and ‘You’re the most Awesome’ from Trusty Tools. The frame around the sentiment is from the Labeled with Love Bundle.

I think this is such a fun gift to give Dad and I loved how all the kids had their own creative spin on how to assemble the project! As you can see from the smiles below I think they really did enjoy putting things together!

Please feel free to shop my store or DM to place an order if you are inspired by this project! All of your support allows me to continue to ‘love what I do’!
