My card for Day #17 features a fun way to use the Birchwood Background stamp. I believe the gals from Stampin’ Through the Catalogue showed this on their Instagram feed and I thought it was awesome!

I used the So Sentimental stamp set for the phrase and cut it with the coordinating Stitched So Sweetly dies after embossing it in gold. I added a strip of the Best Dressed DSP along the top with a Mossy Meadow scallop edge created with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch. The sequins are from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins set. The whole sentiment panel is up on Dimensionals.

The create the background I started with my Birchwood stamp mounted on my Stamparatus. Line up your paper and ink your stamp and gently press it down. Lift up your paper and rotate it in the opposite direction (if you start horizontal, rotate vertical or vice versa). Ink the stamp again and press. You end up with this really cool background!

This card is simple and was pretty fast to come together! I already have a list of gal pals I will be sending this to!

Taco Bout' Awesome

Witty-Cisms is definitely a stamp set that I wish I would have used more over the past few months! For my “Card a Day in May” challenge, Day #11, I wanted to use a stamp set that I really liked but didn’t give the attention to. The taco and the cactus are my favourite images in this set.

The base of the card is Basic Grey and I added a layer of Smokey Slate card stock that I ran through a brand new embossing folder called Tasteful Textile 3D. It will be available in the new annual catalogue.

I coloured the taco with Stampin’ Blends in Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green. The hearts are stamped in Granny Apple Green from the Meant to Be stamp set. I used the Follow Your Art DSP for the stitched circle and Calypso Coral strip. I wanted to play around with patterns so added in a strip of designer paper from the Peaceful Poppies collection.

It was easy to create another version of this card by swapping out the sentiment with one of the other great options in the Witty-Cisms stamp set. I love this cute cactus and he was easily coloured in with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends!

Awesome April Card Mailing Challenge

At the start of April I posted on my private group stampin’ page a request for those who wanted to participate in a card mailing challenge for the month of April. I set up an exclusive page for us (12 members in total) and each day our goal was to post a mailbox selfie of us sending out a card. Let me tell you, these ladies rose to the challenge typically sending more than one card a day for the ENTIRE month. One of the members sent 150 cards prior to Easter to her church family! The best part of this challenge was it gave many of us a purpose during this challenging time. It forced us to leave our homes every day to post a picture at our mailbox or post office and I looked forward to seeing everyone with their pets or their kids assisting in sending out these cards. Think of how many happy smiles were on the other end of those cards. I have been known to say that a card is a “happiness with a fold in the middle”!

I wanted to share one of the cards that I made in bulk to send out over the course of this month. Many of these cards also had pictures inside of me and the recipient as well as I am someone who regularly prints photos and I wanted to share some happy memories with them!
