Color Fusers--March

Hi friends! How is everyone doing? Are you excited for March, Spring Break and Easter? I know I am! It means we are inching closer and closer to spring and summer! Yay!

This month the Color Fusers design team is creating projects with Sweet Sorbet, Pool Party and Lost Lagoon! I am really excited for this color combination and I am gearing myself up to say good bye to Sweet Sorbet as it is one of the In Color’s that will be retiring at the end of April.

For my card I was inspired to create a peek a boo window using the heart from the Hooray for Surprises Dies and some scraps of Pool Party and Lost Lagoon that I had laying around. The Lost Lagoon pieces were actually already embossed too so I thought they made a fun addition to the card.

I added my strips to a piece of Basic White that I covered with an Adhesive Sheet. I was feeling lazy and the Adhesive Sheets just make it so EASY! and then I just snipped off the excess. Easy Peasy!

This piece was then added flat the the card base with the top layer added with Dimensionals.

I stamped some of the mini hearts from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set in Sweet Sorbet from the top right corner down to the bottom left corner

I thought it a fun opportunity to add some of the In Color Twine in Sweet Sorbet was to tie it around the right side of die cut section.

I mixed and matched 3 of the sentiments from the stamp set on the outside. Stamping them in the colors of the month and hand trimming them out to make a custom phrase “Hooray you are simply the BEST”. I love to add sentiments together to make a whole new saying.

Lastly I added some white embellishments to help make the background pop with the contrast against the Sweet Sorbet.

Now to the inside! Because I had die cut a heart to create a peek a boo panel, I needed to use it!

So I used the polka dot heart die from the Hooray for Surprises set and added it over top of the original heart for this really fun look. I stamped some more hearts similar to the design on the front but this time going left to right.

I decided to keep the sentiments going by adding ‘Sending you lots of love’ in Lost Lagoon with an extra ‘Love’ stamped in Sweet Sorbet.

It is a really nice surprise to have the inside of your card decorated along with the outside, don’t you think?

I hope you are inspired to use this fun and bright color combo in some of your own projects. However, you will have lots more to see by following along our blog hop! Next up on the hop is Melissa! I can’t wait to see what she has designed for us to see!

Be Inspired Blog Hop--February!

Hi friends!

I know I haven’t been sharing on here as much so I am extra happy to be participating today in the Be Inspired Blog Hop! This month, February, we are sharing projects with our favorite things from the Occasions Catalogue. This is easy and challenging at the same time to pick just one or two things!

There are some really fantastic things in the new Occasions Catalogue so it was really hard to narrow it down. I decided to use a stamp set that I have been creating up a storm with lately. I have used this stamp set on a couple scrapbook pages and to make some cards for an upcoming birthday class. This is what I wanted to share with you today!

Isn’t this adorable? This fun card can be for a lot of occasions where you could have cake to celebrate! I intentionally left off a candle on the top so that it could be used for a variety of events.

The color palette is definitely one of my favourites at the moment!

—Bubble Bath

— Fresh Freesia

— Lemon Lolly

— Highland Heather

I started by stamping the base of the card with one of the flowers in the stamp set in the same color ink (Bubble Bath) in opposing corners to add some interest to the base.

The cake plate is stamped in Pebbled Path on the Basic White layer and then once again so I could hand cut it and pop it up.

The layers of the cake alternate color and direction. I started with Bubble Bath, then Fresh Freesia and a little layer of Lemon Lolly with one of the icing stamps in the set. This stamp set has 25 images to choose from the build your cakes and pies!

I stamped four different flower designs from the stamp set to add as decorations to my cake. I used two stamps to create the sentiment, ‘Time for Cake’ and cut it out with a circle punch.

A little Lemon Lolly twine and some long retired gems were the perfect touch! I am trying to use up my vast stash of embellishments!

I hope this card inspires you to do some stamping with the Cake Fancy stamp set! I do really think it is a gem in the Occasions catalogue!

I can’t to see what Artisan Design Team member Maheswari has created for our blog hop today! I love all of her designs so I know I will be inspired. Make sure you go all around the hop to maximize your inspiration!

Occasions Catalogue Inspiration Project!

Well here we are—2024, a new year and a new fun Occasions Catalogue to inspire us! I thought it would be fun to share a project that I recently created to share at my Birthday Cupcakes & Cards class as it used a bundle that I would say is a true ‘Brenda Bundle’!

This bundle is called the Hooray for Surprises Bundle and is found on page 13 of the new Occasions catalogue! It was one of the first things I purchased from this catalogue.

I started with a base of Pool Party—one of my all time favorite colors, including a first layer that I ran through the 3D basics embossing folder (this is an online exclusive product). This folder is one of my absolute favorites, I use it alot!

I stamped the large flower in three colors—Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo. There is a die in the matching set to cut these out.

The sprigs are a fun die that cuts out two connected pieces, this make them perfect to tuck in as accents. I used Lemon Lime Twist card stock for these.

I die cut a Pool Party and a Lemon Lolly flower and added a small circle of Basic White card stock behind the centers. These are also popped up on Mini Dimensionals

The sentiment is also from the Hooray for Happiness set and I stamped it in Fresh Freesia with a little Linen Thread tied in a bow on the left.

The Pool Party embellishments are a FREE Sale-a-bration reward—the Opaque Faceted Gems—I love when we can pick a free embellishment!

And lastly, to complete my little garden of flowers—I added a little Lemon Lolly flower that I die cut from the Bright Skies Dies.

I hope this card makes you as happy as it makes me and gives you some great inspiration!

Color Fusers--January 2024!

Welcome to 2024! It is hard to believe it is the start of an new crafty year, and of course a new year means NEW stamp sets, Designer Series Papers and color combinations!

This month our design team is creating projects with Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo! What a bright cheery combo to kick of the new year!

I was in the mood to make a card this month and of course I knew I wanted to play around with a new stamp set. I decided to use the new Adoring Hearts Bundle to design my project.

I started with a base and first layer of Daffodil Delight. I also used this color over top of my sentiment. The Adoring Hearts stamp set has some really beautiful script fonts. I used my Blending Brush with Daffodil Delight lightly over top of the script and then took my Stampin’ Write Marker to trace over the script. It is a really easy way to help your sentiment come to life. The little heart beside the sentiment is from the Adoring Hearts Dies—-these dies are full of hearts!

The background of the card is actually my favorite aspect!

I stamped the large floral image from the set a few times using Memento Ink in the bottom right corner. I used my Melon Mambo and a Blending Brush over top of the flowers—this is a great way to create a ‘color halo’ over a stamped image. I did add some more color with my Melon Mambo blend, however I didn’t want the blooms to look perfect. Hence, the initial layer with the Blending Brush.

I colored the leaves with my Parakeet Party Blend and added a few little die cut sprigs.

I also flicked my Black Stampin’ Blend marker over the background of the card to take away the ‘white’.

Honestly, in my opinion, there isn’t a project that the Black & Very Vanilla Gingham ribbon can not make better! Haha! It looks great with everything, especially this card with a little black Baker’s Twine tied in a bow.

I hope you like this project are inspired to give the Adoring Hearts Bundle a try! It is so much more than just a ‘Valentine’s Set’ ! Don’t be fooled by that one sentiment in the set!

Up next on our Hop is Melissa Kerman! Melissa is actually the one who keeps us on in check each month, and I am grateful for her reminders and patience with us (we know who we are! hahaha!). I can’t wait to see what she has designed for her first project of 2024~

12 Days of Christmas--Day 9!

Hello! I am so excited about my cute projects to share today for Day 9 of 12 Days of Christmas! I hope you have been enjoying all of the fun things that Melanie and I are sharing with you!

This is the season to send cards but its also the season of gift cards!

My project today is a fun cheery way to give a gift card. I have 3 teens in my house and lots of teenage nieces and nephews, so gift cards are a popular choice. I also make a cute little box for our holiday table each year that I place a gift card inside, so these little guys are going to be decorating my table for sure!

I used our Scallop Gift Card Boxes from the Annual Catalogue for these 2 cute projects, along with the Sending Cheer Bundle and Merry Bold & Bright DSP—you could even include the card I previously shared with your gift card box!

I wrapped a belly band of the star DSP around the top box and made a super cute mini bow to adorn the box. To make a mini bow you need 1 piece of 6x6 DSP that you cut into 1/2 strips and fold into a figure 8 shape. I used our defunct mini stapler to keep the loops together.

You stack them in the shape of a cross or tee, using a mini dimensional to keep them together. You then need one 1/2x3 inch strip attached end to end for the middle. I have a really great reel on my blog from last holiday season that shows you step by step how to make bow. Go check it out @stampwithbrenda

The gingerbread men on both boxes are stamped in Pecan Pie. I used the envelope stamp from the Sending Cheer stamp set on both projects as well. On the top it presents like a tag in Poppy Parade and on the bottom box as its intended, the worlds cutest envelope in Coastal Cabana.

On the bottom box I cut a layer in Basic White and ran it through the 3D Basics Folder for a little texture. The belly band on this project is the fun stripped DSP. I also colored in the little hearts on the gingerbread mans tummy with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.

I love these little boxes, they are so festive and fun! I hope you will consider making some too for your family or friends! They will definitely take your gift box level up!

I can’t wait to see what Melanie has designed for us today! Please make sure to go and check out her project!
