A Card a Day in May--Day 11!

Hello friends! I really love my card share today as its so bright and cheery and features one of my favorite new stamp sets—Simply Fabulous! This set has great sentiments in a fun font and some super cute imagery to support!

I love the crisp background of this card that just lets our fabulous new In Color’s really shine on this card! The Basic White looks great on the Orchid Oasis card base.

The sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky and is die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies (#addtocart) and raised up on a few Dimensionals. It is then brought to life with the fun flowers and greenery from the Simply Fabulous stamp set!

There is no hardware so to speak for this stamp set so you will have to hand trim out all of these images! I stamped a collection of little flowers in the new In Colors and the greenery all in Parakeet Party.

The little flowers look super cute with the Matte Decorative Dots added to the centers and are layered with Dimensionals to add some texture!

If you haven’t add the Simply Fabulous stamp set to your collection, I say #addtocart as it has so much potential! I know I will crafting with this alot!

Have a wonderful day my friends!

A Card a Day in May--Day 10!!

Hello everyone! Welcome back or thanks for stopping by if this is your first time! My card today featuring the Bokeh Technique that I recently shared as an Artisan Design Tip & Technique on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page! If this technique inspires you I will take a look over there as I shared stamp by step instructions. Don’t be intimidated though! It is easier than it looks!

To create this fun technique you can use the Picture This Dies, Blending Brushes, a finger dauber, white craft ink and any other ink colors you choose. Alternately you can create a stencil using a window sheet and the Layering Circle dies.

For this sample I used Fresh Freesia as my card base and then I used the dies to add circles in the same ink color and Flirty Flamingo. I added smaller circles using the finger dauber. You just keep moving the die around to overlap circles and can fill in the empty spaces with the finger dauber. It is really easy to create the blur effect.

The sentiment is from the In Bloom stamp set and underneath is layered some White Frayed Ribbon and a couple of strips of DSP from the Sunshine & Rainbows paper (a recent Sale a bration item).

Remember to check out my full post of instructions on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page!

You can find step by step instructions and photos to make this Bokeh Technique project over the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page at the start of March 2022!

A Card a Day in May--Day 9!!

Happy Monday everyone! May 9th card for this month is a spinner card! I have had the Give it a Whirl Dies for an entire YEAR and just make a whirl card with them! Hard to believe isn’t it??

I decided to use the Nothings Better Than stamp set (a definite fan favorite) for this card as it has 3 images. This is important for the whirl card because you have three image windows for the spinning component that you need to have. And coffee, cookies and chocolate are a universal favorite, I thought this card could work for anyone!

I wanted to use the new Tahitian Tide and Sweet Sorbet In Colors as well and grounded them on a Crumb Cake base. However, now that I look at this card it has a definite Captain America feel to me. Hahaha!

The background was easy to create as I put all three words —Cookies, Coffee and Chocolate on a block at once to stamp in Tahitian Tide ink. So quick and easy!

The images were colored with Stampin’ Blends in the Tahitian Tide, Crumb Cake and the SU 500 neutral Blend color.

‘Because Adulting is Hard’ is stamped in Sweet Sorbet and cut with one of the shapes from the Give it a Whirl Dies. I also used the dies to cut some stitched little stars to add as an embellishment along with some Sweet Sorbet twine.

Overall, putting this whirl card together was a lot less intimidating than I thought! Who doesn’t love a cute interactive card? I also thought it could make a fun gift card holder too where you could add a gift card to get either a coffee, cookie or chocolate! I know I would love it if this showed up in my mailbox!

I cut a 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Tahitian Tide card stock and used the circle from the Give it a Whirl Dies to cut a little dip for the gift card. I stamped the card stock the same way as the front panel.

‘Just for You’ is from the Celebrating You stamp set and is die cut with a shape from the same dies. I also added a little Crumb Cake twine behind the sentiment.

If you haven’t tried this die set out yet, I recommend it. I had been using the stitched clouds all year long but this was my first go at a whirly card! Its absolutely FUN!

If you live in Canada and are inspired by anything you see on my blog, please consider shopping with me so I can keep loving what I do!

A Card a Day in May--Day 8!

Happy Mother’s Day to all my friends and followers. Whether you are a dog mom, a mom with a child in heaven, with kids at home, grown children, a friend with an amazing relationship with your own mom, or have someone who mom’s you, today is for you! So for my A Card a Day in May series today I had to share a Mom inspired card!

〰️Happy Mother's Day

〰️Happy Mother's Day

This card is fun as it used a bunch of paper strip scraps I had laying around! You never know what those scraps might become!

The best part of this card is the bunch of ‘flowers’ using the Meadow Dies! I paired them up with the Honeybee Home stamp set in this soft fun color combo of Petal Pink, So Saffron and Mint Macaron.

On each of the strips I stamped a different floral image from the stamp set in the coordinating ink color. Make sure to only stamp certain areas of the card stock so the images become more of a highlight.

I used various dies from the Meadow Dies in Vellum, Basic White, Gold Foil and Mint Macaron ink to create the bouquet.

The sentiment is from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set which is another #addtocart item in my opinion.

I added some Flirty Flamingo ribbon and gold twine behind the sentiment as well as a little bee embellishment and some In Color Jewels to the card front.

I also wanted to decorate the inside of this card, especially because the sentiment ‘So Glad we are Family’ from Honeybee Home was perfect for this Mother’s Day card.

It is a nice surprise to have stamping on the inside of your card. Wouldn’t you agree?

However you are spending your “MOM DAY” I really hope that it is a special one!

A Card a Day in May--Day 7!!

Hello friends! I have another manly man card for you today! I am excited as this card will be a part of my upcoming The Man’s Man card class in early June! So consider this a fun little sneak peek! And if you live in the YEG area I hope you will consider coming to one of my “In Person” card classes this year!

I was so excited about this new Brewed For You Bundle in our new annual catalogue. A: because I enjoy BEER and B: because BEER is Fun and C: its awesome to see some more ‘manly man’ stuff in our catalogues!

I used Night as Navy as the base and first layer for this card while stamping some fun beer mugs on the base in the same ink color.

I wrapped some of the Fan Bakers Twine around the first layer and over top I added the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies #addtocart

Hot Tip: Click with shop with me button or product images at any time to be directed to my online store

Even though this card is in a more manly man color scheme (Night of Navy, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider and Crushed Curry) you can still give it to a beer loving gal pal or re-create it with a more gally gal color palette!

The two different been mugs are stamped with Momento Ink and then I very lightly added a touch of Balmy Blue ink with a Water Painter to accentuate the glass. The detail on the foam has a bit of Dark So Saffron added with the Stampin’ Blend.

Both mugs and foam are popped up on Dimensionals as well. The sentiment ‘Another Round for Your Birthday’ is stamped in white craft ink and embossed. I also used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the sentiment.

And lastly I added a few of the dark blue rhinestones from the Waves Rhinestones because secretly I think men like bling.

Hope you are enjoying the first WEEK of A Card a Day in May—31 projects will be shared this month! I can’t wait as I am also MAILING a card a day as well! This is great motivation for me! :)
