12 Days of Christmas--Day 11

Fun Fact—I actually designed this card in JULY! And I have not shared it anywhere, I don’t know what I was waiting for but this feels like as good a time as any! This is my 11th project share over our 12 Days of Christmas Hop between myself and @melsinkyfingers! I hope you have been enjoying everything so far!

I actually really love this card and am so glad I came across it on my camera roll again so I can share it with you! Hopefully it will inspire you to recreate it, especially if you still have a few holiday cards left to stamp for the holidays.

I used the Spruced Up Bundle to create this fun and whimsical holiday card. The color combo of Garden Green, Sweet Sorbet, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana has probably been my 2022 holiday card favorite! I am sure if I scroll my Instagram @stampwithbrenda I will see a lot of variations of this color combo!

For this card, I used Garden Green as the base and the first layer was also run through the Timber 3D folder. One of my favorite folders!

I stamped out the two different tree shapes in two colors and die cut one tree that I stamped little stars on top. I love the mix of stamped and die cut trees and baby stars on this page.

I love stars, they are my favorite shape of all time so I couldn’t resist these two options that are included in the die set.

The sentiment is a mix of 2 individual stamps and is die cut with the label from the Stylish Shapes dies (another craft room must have). I added some rhinestones and Sweet Sorbet Bakers Twine for a couple embellishment touches. I am pretty sure the rhinestones are from the retired Holiday Rhinestones but you can always color our Basic Rhinestones with a Stampin’ Blend to create any color of bling you want! Isn’t that fun?

12 Days of Christmas--Day 9

Welcome to day 9 of 12 Days of Christmas! This also means we are over a week into December! Have you started mailing out holiday cards yet? I am happy to say that I have! Many more to hit the mail box, hand deliver, or add into my stampin’ friends product bags! So today I wanted to share a holiday card inspired by the Holiday Catty!

Isn’t this little penguin the cutest? I have loved stamping and creating with the Penguin Place stamp set for the last couple of holiday seasons. And I thought this card project of him floating on a block of ice was just too cute not to recreate!

I love how the Diorama Dies help create the illusion of floating ice. These dies are so fun and can be used in such unique ways. I still had a ton of the Sunshine & Rainbow Sale a bration DSP left so I used that as a layer between the die cuts.

I ran the ‘block’ of ice through the Painted Texture 3D folder to add the look of ice.

I added a little bit of snowflake stamping to the background and I stamped the sentiment out twice in two colors—Pool Party and Real Red. I then dissected it change the orientation of the stamp to fit the card design.

I love how the penguin is a mix of stamped and punched images too and the Adhesive Backed Stars were a perfect embellishment to add.

I am excited to see what Melanie is sharing today and I hope you have been enjoying our projects so far!

Make sure to check back for the last 3 days of our 12 Days of Christmas Hop!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 7

Whoo Hoo! Its been a full week of Christmas project shares so far! I love the variety of things that Melanie and I have been able to offer you as inspiration so far! And remember, you can save these ideas for next year or July! If you are someone that likes to get a jump on Christmas cards. I mean, Christmas in July is a THING!

My project today might actually be one of my fav holiday cards yet! It is just so fun and I love to color so it was a perfect little project. I loved it so much I ended up making a bunch as card swaps too!

I started with a base of Fresh Freesia which leant itself to my little rabbits scarf and the racoons toque. I created a stencil with a piece of Thick White and cut the largest circle from the Layering Circle Dies. I used the stencil with Pool Party ink and Blending Brush to create this little wintery window. After I blended my circle I stamped the snowflakes over top in Pool Party ink and then I used a Water Painter with water to flick a spray over top. Water acts like a remover and I thought it also looked like a bit of snow.

The droplets of water really have a cool effect when you flick them over blended ink.

Are these cute critters from All Bundled Up not the best? I just love how adorable they look and I had so much fun coloring them and then fussy cutting them out.

The sentiment “Happy Christmas” is from the Joyful Flurry stamp set. I stamped and embossed it in white and then trimmed around the sentiment. A few Iridescent Pearls were perfect to finish off this fun holiday card.

Color Fusers--December Blog Hop!

Hello my crafty friends! Thank you so much for coming by to see what the Color Fusers Design Team is up to this month! We are creating projects with a very unique color combo for December!

What do you think? I bet Basic Black, Merry Merlot and Smoky Slate were NOT what you were thinking when you think “Holiday Colors”…but that doesn’t mean we are all creating holiday projects! Guess you will have to go through the Hop to see how many of us did!

As you can see I decided NOT to create a holiday card with this challenge. I could NOT resist the temptation to play with brand new stuff!

I decided to go with Smoky Slate as the base and added a second layer that I ran through the new Cane 3D embossing folder. I LOVE this new folder! I added a piece of Basic White as my top layer and decided to incorporate Merry Merlot in a water color wash behind where I planned the sentiment to be. I went over it twice so it would have a little bit more depth. Let the first layer dry and then run your water painter over it a second time. I finished the background off with a flick of my Merry Merlot marker.

I love how the sentiments in sentimental park can work together to create a variety of captions

I used two new bundles to create this card, they are both from the same suite—Regency Park. All of this will be available in the new upcoming Occasions catalogue in January. Its an absolutely gorgeous suite with a stamp/punch combo and stamp/die bundle. I used BOTH to create this card.

The flowers are from Petal Park bundle. I stamped them with Versamark ink on Basic Black card stock and then embossed them with Basic Black embossing powder. They do look quite awesome in person (hard to capture in a photo). The stamp and punch work together so that 3 flowers are created at once. Love that!

The sentiment is from the Sentimental Park stamp set and is cut with a coordinating die from the set. I did trim off some of the detail from this die as it had some little white flowers attached.

I really like these new dies as they cut out stamped images as well as some flower shapes. I cut some out in Smoky Slate to tie the background of the card into the design.

I also added some Smoky Slate bakers twine as well and some grey Classic Matte Dots.

I also distressed the edges of the Basic White layer to add a little extra texture to the card. I am so pleased with how this project turned out and I hope it has inspired you to consider these new bundles when they come out in the new year!

My crafty friend Melanie is next on the Color Fusers Blog Hop—make sure to check out what she has designed! I am so curious to see if any of my fellow teammates created a holiday card with this combo!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 5

I love a good pocket card don’t you? For my 5th card of 12 Days of Christmas I am sharing one of my ‘go to’ card designs. I make this card style several times throughout the year as I love that you can pull out the Basic White layer and write a message, stick a gift card inside or even a flat little treat. You can use this design for any sentiment or occasion.

I started with a base of Crumb Cake card stock and you score it like a regular card except on one side, score a 1 1/4 inch piece that becomes the flap for the front. I like to round the edges on the top and flap.

I added a strip of Sweetest Christmas DSP to the flap and then adhered the entire flap down using Tear’n Tape. Wrap a length of Linen Thread around the flap to keep the card closed hence creating the pocket.

The Joyful Flurry stamp set was perfect to add to the front and pull out piece, stamping them in Crumb Cake ink. The Wonderful Snowflakes are still my favorite holiday embellishment. I love how they are iridescent and I can pop them right out—NO DIE CUTTING! Yippee! They look perfect with the Garden Green Mittens!

The worlds cutest mittens are from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set and die cut with the Celebrations Tags Dies (my absolute favorite die set in the JJ catty! I have used it SO MUCH!

Merry Christmas is from the same stamp set and I just trimmed it apart using paper snips. It is stamped in Sweet Sorbet—my fav red this season!

I hope you will give this card style a try some time! It is truly one of my go to designs! Don’t forget to go see what Melanie is sharing today!
