Happy Christmas!

I am almost halfway through my Christmas Card a Day challenge for November! This has been such a great way to extend my creative muscle by designing and creating 30 different cards this month! Sometimes I am a few days ahead and sometimes I am scrambling last minute! Sounds like every aspect of my life! I used the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set again to create today’s (Day #14) card and the color palette was dictated by the Wrapped in Plaid DSP. I added on some Real Red Rhinestones from the Annual Catalogue plus added a section of the Real Red Curly Ribbon from the Let it Snow Suite.

I used the All-Around Wreath Dies (pg 7) to cut out the three wreath layers. The Shaded Spruce layer was flicked with the Shaded Spruce marker to give it a little more detail. And the Whisper White background was flicked with the Wink of Stella pen to accent the gold stripe in the DSP.

Sweet Christmas Wishes!

I LOVE this Cup of Christmas Bundle—can you tell? This is my third card shared with this bundle and I will be hosting a card class with them on Monday! I love the concept of Reversibles, the newest type of stamp offering by Stampin’ Up! It means that you can stamp your cups to face any direction. Even with the coordinating dies, Cup of Cheer, you can reverse the handles on your cups by flipping your paper over. I love this card palette. And I am a complete fan of scallops—using big scallops (a frame lit) at the top of the DSP border and small scallops (a punch) is the perfect mix. The sentiment is perfect for adding a Starbucks or coffee gift card to the inside of this card too. What is your favourite holiday drink at Starbucks? I am all over the Chestnut Praline latte. It is so YUMMY and I am sure, calorie free! Ha ha ha!

If you are following my posts from the YEG area I would love to have you come and create these cards with me on Monday, Nov 18th. The class fee is $15 for the 3 cards! I have included a Sign Up Now button to make it even easier!

The Happiest Snowman on the Block!

I think I would be smiling too if I were this cute? Right! I love this card cased right off the front of the Holiday Catalogue—to me it is a perfect example of how to tie our amazing DSP into our projects! The Let it Snow DSP as some really fantastic imagery (the snowman and trees) that can easily be fussy cut and used to create some great card fronts. The Snowfall Accents Puff Paint is perfect to give the card some texture and it such an easy add on to a customers order!

Top Tip: the Puffpaint goes on very liquidy and needs to be heated with a heat tool to achieve the ‘puff’ look

The Most Wonderful Time of Year!

Have you had a chance to play with the Most Wonderful Time of Year product medley yet? You can find it on pg 39 of the Holiday Catalogue. It is a one stop shop for an awesome holiday crafting kit! It includes an exclusive stamp set with coordinating dies, sticker sheets with deers and trees, amazing gold foil treated DSP plus some gold card front sheets, gold tinsel trim and faceted star embellishments. I tried to use a little bit of everything to create this card! I did add in a splatter of the Frost White Shimmer paint found in the Annual Catalogue too as a finishing touch! Hope you enjoy this card—Day #11!

A Canadian Classic

As soon as I saw the Free Skate Bundle on page 44 I was reminded of skating as a kid and making the effort to get out there once a winter with my own kids! We typically skate on a local rink and I have to say it is just like riding a bike! You never forget how! I thought it would be a great card for Day #9

I created this skate card using the Highland Heather and Purple Posy inks for a bit of twist. I added some details to the skate by colouring the heal and laces with Stampin’ Blends (Basic Black and Highland Heather) and added some Wink of Stella. I used the Delicate Silver ink and an Aqua Painter to color the skate blade. And a little sponging with Purple Posy on the background and a few flicks of my Highland Heather Stampin’ Write marker completed the background! I also added a strip of the Mercury Glass Acetate along the side as it resembled cracked ice to me. I hope you are inspired to give the Free Skate Bundle a try.
